During these final days of summer we are starting to see not only new blooms but newly sprouted plants that will stun this fall. Take for example the new sunflowers popping up in the garden beds in front of the Living Wall. They are only a foot or so high, but they will continue to grow through the rest of summer and into fall. Sunflowers reach to be between 6 and 10 feet tall and they will be stunning with a little bit of time. If you love to stop and smell the flowers, make sure to also stop by Lakeview trail to see Gardenia thunbergia which are wonderfully fragrant. It’s not the only tree blooming in the Garden. Lacebark trees, with its furry flowers and leaves, are blooming throughout our 87 acres. Want to learn more? Listen to Georgiann Keller’s audio tour below.
