Group Visits

All group visits are required to have advanced ticket reservations prior to their visit. To purchase tickets for 10 people or more, including school groups, please fill out the booking form below.

When selecting your preferred dates, please note that we cannot curently accommodate any group or school visits on the third Tuesday of every month. There is no discount for group purchases at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Private Experiences

Want to up the ante during your visit? The Garden is now offfering private group experiences for up to 30 people, including: 

  • Sustainable Bead Making (90 Minutes):  Look what you made us do! We’ve expanded our popular sustainable bead making workshop into a friendship bracelet making class! Learn to create delicate – yet  elegant – paper beads, and use them to make a variety of jewelry! From friendship bracelets to paper rings, you’ll take your gift-giving to the next level. Are you ready for it? Sign up today!  Recommended for ages 10+.
  • Wine Bottle Hummingbird Feeder Workshop (90 minutes): Take your gardening space to the next level with this craft that serves a purpose! You’ll use recycled glass bottles to craft a feeder unique to you, and learn all about how to invite our feathered friends and other pollinators to your yard.
  • Parent & Me: Bug Expedition – Special SCBG Patch Included! Great for scouts! (60 minues): Bring your junior entomologists to discover and learn about the bugs in the garden! Class participants will journey through the garden to create your own identification guide that you can use wherever you go! (Chaperone Requirement: 1 adult for every 5 kids)

School and Homeschooling Groups

Schools and Homeschool Groups can access pre- and post-visit curriculum to enhance their student’s experience!

South Coast Botanic Garden offers a rich environment for children of all ages. We welcome classrooms from across Southern California and hope to provide a unique experience for the children.  Whether you’re coming to explore our plant collections, attend SOAR or another one of our exhibits, you can plan a field trip to the Garden every year and have a new educational opportunity! 

Please note that advance registration is required for all school visits. The booking form below must be submitted at least 4 to 5 weeks before your requested date. Memorandum of Agreement with Los Angeles County is required for all school visits. This includes but is not limited to public, private and homeschool educational institutions. All group visits are self-guided.

Buses should never park and unload visitors at the base of the ticketing ramp or at the red-painted curb. Buses may find a place to park in the diagonal parking spaces allotted for school visitors, and if not available, may park near the mulched section of our parking lot or near the horse trail entrance.  

Accessibility Vehicle

Our accessibility vehicle will take you on a 30-minute trip around Tram Road. The vehicle is in active service during the weekends and available by request on the weekdays. To request the vehicle please mention it to a Guest Services representative when you check in at the front window or call 424-452-0920 and you will be provided information reading the pick-up location. The accessibility vehicle is available between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
