As summer nears, you may be looking for some fun activities to do – for yourself and maybe for the kids in your life as well.  We have a host of workshop experiences happening throughout the month that will get you out into nature doing hands-on activities. Bloom and Beauty: Flower Crown Making Class
2–3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1
Learn how to make exquisite flower crowns with fresh plant materials in our hands-on workshop. Set amidst the colorful surroundings of the Garden, this class offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature while learning the art of flower crown making. Guided by skilled instructors, you will learn techniques to craft your own stunning flower crown while engaging in conversations about the significance and symbolism of flowers in various cultures. Mindrop Meditation: Music Hypnosis and Mindful Meditation
11 a.m. – noon Wednesday, June 5 and 19 
Join us for Wellness Wednesdays with Gina Hemmings! As a meditation teacher and hypnotherapist, Gina’s work helps her students connect back to themselves by taking them on a meditative visual journey through the imagination. Parent and Me: Butterflies 101
10 –11 a.m. Friday June 7 and 21 
Get an up close and personal guided experience through SOAR – Tropical Butterflies with our Butterflies 101 workshop experience. The workshop will start at our Emergence Chamber Window, continue through our Host and Nectar Garden, and end in our Pavilion with hundreds of tropical butterflies. Using magnifying glasses, a notebook and crayons kids will create their own identification guides they can use in the Garden or at home. For more information, please click here

Make Your Own Friendship Bracelet

Hummingbird Flights: Make Your Own Feeder Using Recycled Wine Bottles – Now with Wine Flights
2 –3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22 
Get your garden humming with activity by creating the perfect visiting spot for our pollinator friends while enjoying some wine “flights”! Bring some friends to make your own hummingbird feeder out of recycled wine bottles and learn everything you need to know about maintenance and plant pairings to ensure plenty of visits from this favorite garden-space hummingbird visitor. Parent and Me: Bug Expedition
10 –11 a.m. Sunday, June 23 
Discover and learn all about the bugs in the garden! Using a magnifying glass, notebook, pencils and crayons, kids will create their own identification guide that can be used at Sout Coast Botanic Garden or in their own backyard.  All supplies needed will be provided.
