During the summer, Destination Science works with the Garden to host several weeks of in-person educational experiences for children 5 – 11. They go way beyond childcare and inspire a life-long love of learning by making education fun! From June to August, children will be able to participate in the following camps:  Super Hero Physics Fun Camp, Dinobot Builders and Crazy Chem Lab Camp, or Space-Based Astronaut Camp. While children are having a blast, they’re learning educational concepts like the scientific method and formulating hypotheses. They also learn soft skills like communication and teamwork as they work with fellow campers to complete their projects.

Each day, campers conduct experiments in three 70-minute Science Stations specifically created for their age. Mixed into those three Science Stations are two Action Stations where campers can play games and run around one of the Garden’s meadows. But the fun doesn’t stop at camp! At the end of each day, campers can bring home what they built to learn more as they continue playing with their experiments.

By emphasizing fun first, Destination Science Camps inspire a life-long love for learning and can help prevent the “summer slide” which is a tendency for students to lose some of the academic achievements made during the previous school year. By keeping young minds busy with fun educational experiences you help set your child up for great success when they return to school in the fall.

While the Garden provides the space, Destination Science handles the rest, including camp registration. If you’re interested in signing up for camp, click here. They are currently running an early-bird promotion so you’ll get $70 off until March 17!
