Brisbane Box

Brisbane Box is an evergreen tree reaching 30 to 50 feet high in cultivation bearing variegated leaves with light yellow splashes in the leaf centers.  The trunk produces a red-brown bark that peals off in summer revealing white new bark.  The white flowers resemble starfish with five spreading lobes with fringed stamens.  This tree does well in full sun or partial shade and requires ample water.  Photos by Laurel Woodley
