South Coast Botanic Garden is always looking to bring new and exciting exhibits to the Garden. In fact, we can officially confirm that GLOW, our visually stunning art installation that transforms our lush botanic oasis into an oceanic experience with thousands of lights, is coming back bigger and better this year starting November 26. But first, our friends at Constellation Immersive, an affiliate of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), will be using the Garden for their latest venture, The DiscOasis, opening to the public on July 16.
Constellation Immersive, the group behind last year’s The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey in Pomona, will be transforming the Garden into a disco, roller skating heaven. Guests will be invited to experience this unique theatrical experience featuring performers (DJs, artists, roller skaters and more), a large roller rink in the middle of the Garden, food and drinks, and more. Legendary Grammy Award-winning composer, producer, arranger, guitarist, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and Songwriters Hall Of Fame inductee, Nile Rodgers, will curate the soundscape to this theatrical fantasy as The DiscOasis’ Groovemaster.
The DiscOasis will feature a food and beverage area with a curated selection of food trucks that highlight local cuisines while paying tribute to the iconic snack bar foods found at local roller rinks. Guests can also enjoy charcuterie boards in the designated picnic areas, and a unique menu of mocktails and cocktails will be served as guests enjoy themselves throughout the various activities of the experience.
This limited-run experience will be open to the public July 16 through Labor Day weekend. Tickets start at $39, but South Coast Botanic Garden is happy to announce that the team at Constellation Immersive has agreed to give our Members a $5 discount throughout the run of the event with the exception of Saturdays and holidays. They will receive an additional $5 off (for a total of $10 off) if they visit during the preview week, which is July 16, 17, 18 and 20.
