6 Things You Just Can’t-Miss at GLOW

6 Things You Just Can’t-Miss at GLOW

There’s a lot to see at GLOW and we want to make sure you don’t miss an inch of it, so we’ve put together the top 6 things we think you just can’t miss at this year’s exhibit. This is different from our GLOW guide, so if you haven’t checked that out, make sure you do so before your visit as it contains some invaluable information! One item we didn’t include below is our Elf in the Garden contest. While hunting for Poppy is a daytime experience, there are a few elf decoys hidden along the GLOW route which makes for some additional fun. While those elves will only be there through the month of December, the rest of these can’t-miss items will be in the Garden throughout GLOW’s run.

1. These GLOW letters are located on the Upper Meadow and make a perfect photo opp!

2. As you walk down Bubble Lane (also known as our Promenade), be on the lookout for bubbles – a favorite for kids and adults alike.

3. One of the big changes this year is the availability of food and drink in the Rose Garden every night and near the Banyan Grove (on some nights as well). There’s one menu item we highly recommend – the Mulled Apple Cider Sangria. It will keep you warm AND it’s also absolutely delicious!

4. There’s no denying The Bayou is a standout of this year’s exhibit. While there’s a lot to see as you roam down this section, be on the lookout for this camping trailer parked along it. While the trailer has a projection on it, it’s the stunningly-lit tree behind it that deserves a moment of appreciation. Take careful note of many moments like this along the routes.

5. Speaking of The Bayou, those big boxes you see along this area aren’t just for viewing – they’re for playing! These interactive exhibits make for some serious fun for people of all ages. Each interactive screen offers a different photo opportunity (including one with some alligators!) so make a stop at each one and do a little jig! These exhibits have also become a popular photo spot!

6. Let the colors wash over you at the Lakeside Meadow (aka, the Lower Meadow). This area is new to GLOW and is the perfect spot for kids to run around and get some energy out. Or like The River was a popular spot last year for couples who wanted to stop and dance, this also makes for the perfect dance floor.

The Garden relies on generous donations from our Members, visitors and community to keep access to our 87 acres open for all and to provide unique horticultural experiences that help people find connections with nature. Please help us continue this mission for years to come by considering a gift to the Garden. You can do so here.
