Spiders, trails and puppy dog tails all come together to make a wonderful Halloween here at SCBG!

Spiders: If you haven’t seen the Spider Pavilion or met our wonderful tarantulas, now is the time to go. The sweet and fuzzy tarantulas at the Discovery Cart are thrilled to be wonderful models as an interpreter shares facts about spiders. This Tarantula Meet and Greet takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. And on your way to the pavilion, make sure to stop by the Diabolical and Misunderstood Garden Graveyard for some extra spooky fun and education!

Trails: Pardon our dust and construction noise as we begin loading in for our next set of exhibits and experiences. To bring these new and exciting offerings safely onto Garden grounds may require some road closures and detours. Any easy way to avoid some of this is to take our Halloween Hunt which will lead you to four locations throughout the Garden. If you’re here on the weekend between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. you’ll be able to meet our Halloween visitor! Will she be handing out spells or prizes? Come find out!

Puppy Dog Tails: Come join us for what might possibly be the cutest Dog Walking Hours we’ve ever had! This Sunday we will be hosting our Howl-o-ween Costume Contest and the winner will receive tickets to Astra Lumina! We invite you and/or your pup to come to the Garden dressed in costume. Take a picture within the Garden’s 87 acres and post on Instagram using #SCBGCostumeContest for your chance to win!

And while you’re enjoying all the Halloween festivities this weekend, don’t forget to check out Dottie’s, the Garden’s concession station located near the Living Wall, open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Share a delicious charcuterie box with a friend or enjoy a cheesy fresh pressed panini all to yourself!

Have a Happy Halloween!
