The first weekend of Spiked: A Celebration of Agave was a vibrant, high-energy kickoff to this festival-style Garden event! Guests of all ages immersed themselves in the rich culture and flavors of agave, from listening to Steve Sanchez’ mesmerizing mock pit agave roasting demonstration to savoring handcrafted tequila and mezcal cocktails. The air buzzed with live music, the scent of delicious tacos and tortas filled the air, and creativity flowed at the Papel Picado crafting station. The Sip, Sip, Hooray Agave and Chocolate Tasting is a 20-minute guided tasting. Each guest is given a tasting mat to help guide them through the experience.
