It’s time to grab your paint brushes!

Whether you’re looking to take your first oil painting class or you’re ready to master the craft, the Garden is offering a 6-week series perfect for your goals. Local artist Deborah Giese of The Artists’ Studio of Palos Verdes is offering two 6-week sessions starting next week.

The beginners series will take place on Saturdays and focus on how to lay out supplies, how to develop a composition, value and focal points, how to mix basic colors and how to hold a paint brush.

Giese’s intermediate series on Mondays will build upon these basics. Students will display their work after each session to receive feedback on the source of their subject matter and the steps taken to develop their painting.

For both classes Giese will design supply kits with materials needed to complete the class that will be available for purchase for $85, but students can bring their own supplies as well. Due to the colder season, the classes will be held indoors, and table easels will be provided.
