Vertebrate Garden Critters:  Cute, but Pesky & Unwelcome

Guest Speaker:  Kris Lauritson

Have squirrels replaced your potted plants with a small peanut farm?   Have your fruit crops mysteriously disappeared?  Has your new sod been rolled up by masked foragers?  Has a raid by a skunk left you with holes in your grass and an unpleasant odor?  If one of these problems is yours, our speaker for February, Kris Lauritson, has some possible solutions for you.  She has experience with a wide variety of garden invaders, including mice, rats, skunks, opossums, and raccoons, and will help us find out what we can do to reclaim our gardens.

Certificated Master Gardener, Kris Lauritson, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, TV, and Film from California State University, Long Beach.  She has taken courses in botany, agriculture, and horticulture and earned her Master Gardener certification through the University of California.  She has a ServSafe, California Food Handler Certificate.  Kris established productive and beautiful gardens at all of the schools in the Lawndale School District.

There will be a door prize, a plant raffle, tasty refreshments and friendly faces. Meetings are open to the public. Walk straight up the ramp to the side door for the meeting.

If you would like to tour the Botanic Garden later, there is an entrance fee for non-members.  Adults – $9.00, Students & Seniors – $6.00.
