A small, doable step we can take to solve community health problems is to plant edible gardens. Our foods are only as nutritious and healthy as we grow them. Research shows that eating more vegetables improves health, reduces obesity and cuts down on the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer. Having a garden helps us improve our health, save on grocery bills and ensures fresh food on the table. Master Gardener Liza Go will show you how to rebuild and prepare soil, which veggies to plant at the right time and how to maintain a healthy environment for your garden and community. This class will be held outdoors, rain or shine. Wear gardening clothes and hats appropriate for the weather.
