Grab your leashes and Lederhosens, it’s time for Dogtoberfest!

It’s beer festival meets dog parade at South Coast Botanic Garden’s Dogtoberfest! Both humans and dogs alike are invited to join the festivities being offered every Saturday and Sunday in October. Enjoy a gorgeous walk in the Garden with your pup while you taste a variety of beers, take a spin and dance with your pooch, shop at a doggy marketplace and let your pup show what it’s got on an obstacle course! Dottie’s at the Koi Pond will be serving up Bratwursts, warm soft pretzels and other Bavarian favorites. And, don’t forget to pick up a “barkuterie box” for your furry friends!

Things To Do During Dogtoberfest

Lederhosens and other on-theme attire is encouraged!

Remember that dogs must remain on leash at all times.

Bark Walk
Hit the trails and sniff out botanical treasure on this self-guided walk! Our horticulture team has gone to the dogs by highlighting a few favorites from our tree collection.

Biscuits and Beers
Pawrade your pooch around for a unique pup crawl where you can visit up to 4 stations located throughout the Garden and enjoy FREE beer samplings. Once you have found your favorite, purchase a full-sized beverage from a selection of 8 different beers, including a limited run Dogtoberfest Lager from Smog City Brewing Company. Every purchase will be paired with a complimentary dog treat for our four-legged-friends to enjoy.

Doggy Marketplace
We double dog dare you to resist the wares of our pooch-centered craftsmen. From specialty dog collars to colorful dishes, you will not go home empty-pawed.

Dance Pawty
Our dog-themed music will get toes tapping and tails wagging with a lush green backdrop of the garden.

360 degree Pet Portraits
Fetch a memory with Fido by taking a special video portrait in the Garden. (For VIP ticketholders only)

Obstacle Course
Let your pup show us what it can do on our doggy obstacle course! Remember, dogs must remain on leash at all times.

Dottie’s at the Koi Pond
Grab a Bratwurst, warm pretzel and other Bavarian favorites from Dottie’s at the Koi Pond. While beer will be available on the Biscuit and Beer Trail, Dottie’s at the Koi Pond will have a full bar available.
