We understand you may be feeling a little down and out about this year’s Halloween with trick-or-treating being frowned upon. But just because you can’t go house to house for some candy, doesn’t mean you can’t run around the Garden for some! We’re encouraging all Garden visitors to come to the Garden dressed in costume (yes, masks are still required). Our staff will be joining in as well and we’ll be handing out some fun bingo cards for you to go on a hunt through the Garden. Parents, we’re encouraging you to make it even more fun for your kids by bringing a bag of candy with you. Every time they cross off a square on their bingo card, they’ve earned a piece of candy! It’s a new, creative way of trick-or-treating safely during this COVID era.

And we’re not stopping there! Coming to the Garden dressed in costume isn’t just fun… it’s a competition! Take your most creative pics in the Garden (there are definitely some spooky spots for a fun backdrop and we’ll have some photo ops set up for you too!) and post it to your Instagram account using the hashtag #SouthCoastBOOtanicGarden AND tag @scbgarden for your chance to win free tickets GLOW, our after-dark light exhibit launching November 21

The Garden aims to be a place of respite for the community during these times, and we hope to see you all here in the Garden for a little Halloween fun – it’s what we ALL could use right now.

Garden hours for Halloween day are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance ticket reservations are required and can be purchased here

The Garden has remained open to serve the community by being a place to encourage wellness and health through nature and open space. Please help keep us open by considering a gift to the Garden. You can do so here.
