3 Ways to Upcycle Your Toilet Paper Rolls

3 Ways to Upcycle Your Toilet Paper Rolls

During times like these, you probably worked pretty hard to get those toilet paper rolls sitting in your garbage can right now. Instead of throwing them away, make all that hard work even more worth it with these Upcycle Projects!

Project 1: Seedling Starter
For this project you’ll need:
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Soil
  • Seeds
Fold one end of the toilet paper roll, then fill the roll with soil and plant your seeds.

Once the seeds sprout you can plant the whole thing in the ground – the toilet paper roll will decompose!

Project 2: Bird Feeder

For this project you’ll need:
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Peanut butter
  • Bird seed, nuts, berries – all small bits!
  • Twine or ribbon to hang it

Cover the roll in peanut butter to make it sticky, then sprinkle your bird seeds, nuts and berries all over. String the twine/ribbon through, and hang your bird feeder in a quiet place at eye level or a little higher. Be careful of noisy areas, squirrels and cats! Birds want to feel safe while eating their food.

Project 3: Binoculars

For this project you’ll need:
  • 2 toilet paper rolls
  • Glue, stapler or tape
Simply glue, staple or tape the two rolls together (decorating them is optional). Use your binoculars to find nature outside your window or in your backyard. Look for birds or bugs. Notice how different things look when using your binoculars.
