For the past eight years, we have hosted an exclusive event for our Garden Circle Members called Farm to Table which allows these higher level Members the chance to connect over a four-course meal and enjoy delightful entertainment. This year’s event is happening at the end of this month and features a theme that celebrates the intertwined relationship between art and botanic gardens. Our special guest speaker is renowned kinetic artist Patrick Shearn, known for his monumental installations that create awe-inspiring, immersive experiences.
At this year’s Farm to Table, Shearn will unveil his design for our newly commissioned sculpture, “Shade of Colors,” set to be placed in the Marilyn and John Long Children and Family Garden. With over 30 years of experience, Shearn has developed iconic pieces like “Liquid Shard” from his Skynet Series. His work has been showcased at high-profile events such as Coachella, Burning Man, and the 2008 Beijing Olympics, captivating audiences worldwide and garnering viral recognition. Shearn’s innovative approach, which focuses on the blend of art and nature, has earned coverage in major publications such as The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and more, highlighting his impact on contemporary art.
