Go Public Gardens Week is an annual celebration of America’s public gardens, hosted by the American Public Gardens Association to drive home the importance of supporting public gardens through visitation, membership and volunteering. Public gardens rely on you more than ever. This year’s Go Public Gardens Week is happening from May 7 through May 16. In honor of this year’s event, we’ve put together 10 reasons you should visit South Coast Botanic Garden during Go Public Gardens Week. Come show your support!

10 Reasons to Visit South Coast Botanic Garden During Go Public Gardens Week:

1) Check out the latest spring blooms that are making the Garden pop with color and that are changing daily 
2) To show support after a year of change and uncertainty. 
3) Nature is good for your health! Sunshine and fresh air can help boost your immune system.
4) You can visit SOAR, our new butterfly pavilion featuring tropical butterflies. 
5) Our dog walking hours are happening on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.! 
6) To see world-class art with our Hide and Seek exhibit featuring sculptures on loan from LACMA.
7) Our Rose Garden is in full bloom with more than 1,000 bushes and 100 varieties.
8) Spending time outdoors is still safer than staying indoors! 
9) We’ve extended our hours to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, making it an ideal spot to watch the sun start to set.
10) Reconnect with nature and enjoy 87 acres of lush landscape.
