Wild Tree Tobacco

A shrub or small multi-trunked tree which may grow to 20 feet.  As the tree matures the bark gets very thick and corky with furrows.  The leaves are dark green and reach a length of 7 inches, mostly at the branch tips.  The flowers occur close to the branch as white clusters followed later by small orange-yellow berries.  This plant is moderately drought tolerant.  Photo by Laurel Woodley
