Roger's Red Grape
A handsome winter deciduous grape which produces bright red leaves in the late Fall. Recent evaluation using DNA fingerprint technology has revealed that Vitus cv. Roger's Red is actually a hybrid between the Wild California Grape (Vitus californica) and a Wine Grape (Vitus vinifera cv. Alicante Bouschet) which accounts for the bright red foliage prior to leaf drop. Photos by Laurel Woodley
