Spotted Gum Lerp Psyllid

Scientific Name: 
Eucalyptolyma maideni

This Lerp Psyllid was introduced in to California in 2000 and first sighted in Westchester near LAX.  It primarily feeds on Lemon and Spotted Gum trees and forms white feather-like patterns on the leaf surface.  The nymphs feed using piercing-sucking mouthparts to remove the plant fluids.  Photos by Laurel Woodley
