Making your own herbal products for skin and hair health is just exceptionally fun and empowering, and it saves hundreds of dollars for you, too, as high quality products are usually very expensive, and even then, they're not as good as the products you make at home.
We'll discuss some of the most beneficial herbs, and how to combine and prepare them to make formulations that are exactly right for your specific constitution, skin, and hair type. We'll formulate a tea blend for long-term nourishment, and I'll demonstrate how to make a few different products for internal and external use. You'll take home samples of these and our tea blend, and will go home with lots of recipes to experiment with!
We will also focus on diet, nutrition, and lifestyle support for the skin and hair. We'll discuss imbalances and challenges such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, scarring, and more, giving treatment protocols that can be implemented right away.

Instructor: Chen Bing Taiji Academy 

Taiji or Tai chi (meaning grand ultimate) is a Chinese soft style internal martial art used for centuries in health, healing and longevity. Based on ancient principles of yin yang theory, philosophical laws of nature (the Tao), techniques of Chinese acupuncture and martial arts, authentic Chen Taiji is a holistic training method used to cultivate a strong body, mind and spirit through techniques of mental concentration with coordinated breath and body movements. Proper practice results in a supple body with improved postural alignment, balance and bone density. Taiji harmonizes external and internal energy flow which strengthen muscles, tendons and ligaments; while the internal spiraling energy massages internal organs and circulates qi energy-flow throughout the body. This is a suitable practice for students of all ages with various ailments and conditions.

Chen Taiji founded by Chen Wangting, is the oldest and parent form of all the styles of Taiji including Yang, Wu and Sun. The instructors are fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from Laoshi (teacher) Master Bosco Baek, the only disciple in America of Master Chen Bing and the direct descendant of its creator Chen Wangting. Master Bosco Baek teaches the authentic Chen Jia Gou (Chen Village) system and is a most knowledgeable and skillful teacher with precise attention to the details of alignment and structure that will challenge the most athletic and benefit the absolute beginner.

This total body workout will increase muscle strength, bone density, lean body mass and metabolism, and improve coordination and balance. All major muscle groups are engaged with the use of hand weights and floor exercises. Dance-like cardio intervals are performed to lively, motivating music to elevate the heart rate and burn calories. Get a total body workout while having fun! Includes mat exercises for abs and a stretching and cool-down period to relax the muscles and mind. Bring a mat and 3-5 pound hand weights and wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes.

This class is designed to teach homeowners the importance of a sustainable living. Participants learn about seasonal crops and nutrition. Promote a healthy living while beautifying the garden.  

July 9, 2014 - Facebook Event: Garden Design Features

This class will teach participants how to conduct a thorough site analysis, develop accurate plot plans, and effectively use overlays and construction details. These topics are essential when designing a
green and healthy garden.

July 23, 2014 - Facebook Event: Drought Tolerant Plants

This class is designed to teach homeowners the importance of using less water and drought tolerant plant materials in their gardens. Homeowners will become familiar with various trees, shrubs, and groundcovers that are readily available and well suited for water efficient gardens.

August 6, 2014 - Facebook Event: Drip & Sprinkler Care

This class is designed to introduce residents to new technology that allows for more accurate control of irrigation schedules. With the advent of Smart Controllers, residents have the ability to follow weather patterns that affect their gardens and landscapes. Different products are shown including ways to retrofit including drip system.

August 20, 2014 - Facebook Event: Eco Garden Care

It will provide the participants with an understanding of plant care and maintenance that they can use in their garden to make it more water efficient. Over 50 plants are id from California Natives to Drought Tolerant Plants. Eco friendly fertilizing is emphasized.
