Instructor: Teri Richards, Multi Certified One Stroke Art Instructor, Artistic Machine Quilting Instructor.

One Stroke Painting is a very unique method in that anyone without previous experience in painting of any kind may achieve the ability to paint gorgeous flowers, landscapes, seascapes etc., all with a minimum amount of strokes, using specific brushes and the One Stroke technique.

 

Class Materials List:

Painting apron or large painting shirt to cover clothing

Loose leaf three ring binder

Pencil, pen and small scissors

Sheets or a roll of transfer paper. *not tracing paper*

Stylus

Q tips with a pointed end
Small bottle of rubbing alcohol

Baby food jar with tight lid

Set of One Stroke acrylic brushes (available from instructor at discount)

Set of One Stroke enamel brushes (available from instructor at discount)

A One Stroke double sided water container with scraper (available from instructor at discount)

One Stroke pallet with wells for paint and to hold paper plates or a plastic washable large paint pallet (available from instructor at discount)

Small plastic box with lid to stash small supplies

A tote, rolling cart or Carry-all to transport painted surfaces and other supplies. 

Instructor provides all paints and a plastic sleeved kit with design, written instructions, photo of project, and a numbered worksheet guide. Listed items can be purchased at Michael’s, JoAnn's, Staples, or Aaron Brothers.

Learn to create paintings of nature that capture the softly colored art form that is expressed in the teachings and techniques of instructor Hisako Asano. You will learn to mix and blend colors and manipulate 3-D values with a single stroke. Materials list is available at the Guest Services Center.

These show-stopping pieces have been gracing the shelves of the Gift Shop for some time. Now is your chance to learn how to create your own! Join our very own Craft Workshop instructors in building a waxed-linen pine needle basket from pine needles in the Woodland Walk. A lunch will be taken around noon. Please feel free to bring your own lunch to enjoy.

Suzanne will take beginners through the basics of Botanical Drawing using graphite pencil and the five-step method of shading when capturing the natural beauty of the Garden.
