  • Spring Plant Sale: Members Preview Night

    This Members Only event has grown in popularity over the years as Foundation members are able to shop early and get the first selection of unusual landscape plants!  Enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres while shopping with fellow gardening enthusiasts.  RSVP by Friday, April 13, 2012 with your payment to the Foundation office.  Make checks payable to SCBGF, or we can take your credit card payment over the phone: (310) 544-1948.

    Cost:  $20 in advance/$25 at the door

  • Family Picnic Day: Cherry Blossoms

    Location:

    Enjoy Cherry Blossom season at the garden.  Cherry Blossoms are an omen of good fortune and also an emblem of love, affection, and represents spring.  Enjoy nature and celebrate the beauty of the cherry blossoms!

    Bring a picnic!  The upper and lower meadows will be open for picnicking Saturday, March 3.  Tram tours will run at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm  and costs $4 per person.

  • Family Picnic Day: Welcome Spring!

    With the danger of frost gone, the sun is warming the soil and it’s time to get planting!  Many trees and shrubs will be in bloom at the garden, so bring the family and enjoy nature’s beauty!

    Bring a picnic!  The upper and lower meadows will be open for picnicking. Tram tours will run at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and costs $4 per person.  Picnics are not provided, but feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy one of the rare days that you can bring a picnic on grounds.

  • Family Picnic Day: Mother's Day

    Bring your family for a picnic at the Garden on Mother’s day. Have you visited our display Greenhouse yet?  It is bursting with many tropical varieties of plants and is spectacular.   The greenhouse plants are planted to follow the color wheel palette and the color of the foliage or blooms will range from light to dark as you walk around inside the greenhouse.

    The South Cost Botanic Garden is hosting a Spring Shopping Boutique – come join us!  Shop for all of the special mothers in your life with gift items from local vendors and artists.  Vendors will have jewelry, clothing, handbags, and more!  We will also have plants available for sale to help you get a jump start on your spring planting.

    This show of various stitched art will be on display in the Frances Young Hall.  Entry levels include professional, non-professional, master, and student.  Display categories will include needlepoint, petit  point, counted thread, surface embroidery, beads, lace, clothing embellishing, and mixed media.
