Instructor Hisako Asano will teach you how to create paintings of nature that capture the soft-colored art form that is expressed in her techniques. You will learn to mix and blend colors and manipulate 3-D values with a single stroke.

About the Instructor:

Hisako Asano has a M.F.A. in Design from University of Southern California (USC) and was a Professor at University of Southern California, Loyola Marymount University and Los Angeles County Museum of Art with over 45 years of teaching experience.

Materials List:

1.5” Hake Brush, 11” x 15” Strathmore Series Watercolor Paper, water container, Viva brand paper towels, watercolor palette, transparent watercolor in tube: Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Sap Green, Lemon Yellow, Indio, Prussian Blue, Yellow Ochre. Registration required. Class is limited to 20 students maximum. Online registration is not available. Please call Guest Services Center at (310) 544-1948 to register for Lottery.

 

LOTTERY TERMS:

Enrollment Lottery entry shall begin on February 17, 2017 at 9:00 am Pacific Standard Time (PST). All entries must be received on or by February 24, 2017 at 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST). Lottery winners/eligible enrollees will be notified of their selection by February 27, 2017 at 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) by email or phone. Twenty (20) individuals will be randomly selected to become eligible for enrollment into the spring edition of the Oriental Impressionistic Watercolor Class. Remaining entries will be added to the Waitlist in the case that enrollment-eligible individuals are unable to fulfill the requirements of eligibility. If selected, enrollment eligibility is non-transferable with no substitutions permitted for enrollment eligibility or place on the Waitlist. Lottery entry is free of charge. If selected for enrollment eligibility, full tuition payment is required by March 2, 2017 at 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) or enrollment eligibility will be forfeited. Accepted entry modes are mail, email or phone only. Entries received in other modes (i.e., fax, text, voicemail messages, etc.) will not be accepted or eligible for selection. South Coast Botanic Garden Foundation is not responsible for any incomplete, late, lost, misappropriated, illegible, damaged, postage-due or misdirected mail-in entries, transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning or unavailability of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or South Coast Botanic Garden Foundation. Lottery entry and selection will be handled solely through South Coast Botanic Garden Foundation. You must be at least 16 years of age to enter.
