The Water Replenishment District of Southern California has been providing this program for the public since 2010 dedicated to various tried and true conservation strategies.

The Water Replenishment District of Southern California will show students the importance of implementing a design program when installing or renovating their garden. The class focuses on design concepts and ideas for creating a water-efficient garden, including selection of plants and materials.

Learn about the benefits of using herbs and natural products on your skin and hair. This workshop will include information on how to use these ingredients to make your own herbal skin care and beauty products while offering an introduction to botanical beauty. This four-part course will offer a tutorial on how to choose ingredients for skin types, skin first aid and desired effects. Students will dive into processes for making a range of beauty products, including creams, facial masks, sprays, toners, scrubs and bath salts, creating a relaxing spa experience with our homemade products.

Beth Crosse: Ocean-friendly Garden Chair of South Bay Chapter and Green Gardens Group (G3) Certified Trainer, Maintenance Director for Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden.

 Instructor Beth Crosse will teach students how to achieve an Ocean-friendly Garden through giving your garden CPR: Conservation, Permeability and Retention and bring it back to life! This program includes watershed basics, hands-on workshops, the 5-step process, 3 Instant Gratifications and countless resources.

*A portion of fees will benefit Surfrider Foundation – South Bay Chapter

Martin Byhower and Stephanie Bryan: 40+ years of combined birding experience in conducting and documenting sightings.

Are you interested in birds? Join Stephanie Bryan and Martin Byhower of the Palos Verdes/South Bay Audubon Society as they tour the Garden in search of birds. Bird walks are a great way to learn to identify birds. No experience is required, but binoculars are recommended. The group meets in the Courtyard and then heads out into the Garden. Please arrive punctually should you wish to join the group. Binoculars recommended. Binoculars can be purchased at Wild Birds Unlimited in Torrance.
