Instructor: Art To Grow On Children's Art Center

Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, and More! Students will be exposed to a variety of Master Artist lessons along with different weekly projects that build Life Essential Skills: Critical Thinking, Increased Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem, Development of Fine Motor Skills, and Independent Learning. From tempera paint, to tile mosaic, to watercolor and our Paint Walls – Let that imagination soar! Lessons and projects rotate quarterly. Parent attendance is required. Class is limited to 16 participants.

Join us for this awesome art class that introduces the Great Masters! From Frank Lloyd Wright to Van Gogh, to Andy Warhol to Monet, students will learn how to work with a variety of materials and take home a work of art each week. Imagination, creativity, and innovation are at the forefront of this great class. Come join the fun – a great way to enhance critical thinking, develop problem-solving skills, and let that imagination soar! Class is limited to 16 participants.

As a perfect way to introduce your friends and loved ones to the Garden, People’s Place had partnered with the Garden to provide a fun and beneficial activity for parent and child ages 3 months to 3 years on ‘free admission’ days in the summer. This class will explore ways to establish and strengthen bonding and stress reduction through easy to follow stretching and light movement.

Free with paid Garden admission

On a warm day the conifer and evergreen area can provide cool shade. Imagine yourself in a remote mountain hideaway! A self-guided tour and information sheet will be available. Please visit the Gift Shop for more information. Picnics are not provided, but feel free to bring your own. The Upper and Lower Meadows will be open for picnicking.

Speaker: David Stives, Master Falconer, Park Animal Keeper

The Natural Areas Wings and Things raptor program is educational introduction to local raptor species and the art of falconry. Participants will have the opportunity to meet some of the Natural Area winged Ambassadors and see a demonstration of falconry raptor at work. The program is designed as a 45 minute lecture and meet and greet with various species of raptors and even a vulture. Park Animal Keeper, David Stives who is also a master falconer will provide an outlook on the Natural History, Human Impacts effecting populations and conservation efforts on habitat and avian species. Afterwards a question and answer session will give participants a chance to ask about the truths and myths of these birds of prey and falconry.

Cost: $15 per person at the door

Bring a picnic and enjoy the band as they play traditional, contemporary, and original bluegrass songs. Acoustic instruments blend with vocals in lead and harmony. Bring a blanket and/or beach chairs and a picnic and enjoy the music of the band on the Upper Meadow.
