Instructors: Megan Pollard and Lee-Jean Lin with Art Experience Studios

Cost: $135 members / $150 nonmembers

$15 Materials Fee (payable to instructor)

A wonderful introductory class for budding artists. Students will learn to observe nature in the garden, experiment with various art media on difference surfaces, and combine drawing and painting skills to create art projects. Both two and three dimensional media will be explored to build skills and self-confidence. They will explore the variety of the art world. including, but not limited to watercolors, acrylics, pastels, color pencils, collage, and printmaking. Lessons include color mixing exercises and observational drawings and paintings. Just come with an open mind and curiosity. No experience required.

Instructor: Teri Richards, Multi Certified One Stroke Art Instructor, Artistic Machine Quilting Instructor.

One Stroke Painting is a very unique method in that anyone without previous experience in painting of any kind may achieve the ability to paint gorgeous flowers, landscapes, seascapes etc., all with a minimum amount of strokes, using specific brushes and the One Stroke technique.

Teri has obtained all levels of One Stroke Certification through the official Donna Dewberry One Stroke program. She has been a One Stroke Instructor in Orange County and Los Angeles County as well as Ft. Collins Colorado. Teri has attended multiple four-day out-of-state art seminars and has appeared on Los Angeles area television shows such as Let’s Go LA in her capacity as an art instructor. One Stroke Art Instructing is a particular passion of Teri’s.

Learn to create paintings of nature that capture the softly colored art form that is expressed in the teachings and techniques of instructor Hisako Asano. You will learn to mix and blend colors and manipulate 3-D values with a single stroke. Materials list is available at the Guest Services Center.
