The Pop-up Library is a portable library through the Palos Verdes Library District that "pops-up" in unusual and unexpected places on the hill. Along with a collection of beautiful "pop-up" books for children and adults, there will also be several other collections including nature and garden-themed books available to check out. The Pop-up Library has a 4G wireless hot-spot and a laptop for looking up information.

The library comes complete with comfy chairs to sit and read with an interactive "Rube Goldberg" machine that blows bubbles. Instructor: Phillip Cooke, BFA in Photography

Please register through Guest Services: (310) 544-1948.

The class will cover basic technical photography techniques taught to everyday photographers who want to take full control of their cameras. By the end of the class you will have a grasp of taking photos in manual mode and unlock the full artistic capacity available to them. The class will also cover the different styles of photography and help you turn every day photos into small works of art.

The technical aspects and styles will apply to all types of cameras, from cell phones to high end studio cameras. The lessons will help any photographer improve their eye. But to get the most out of the class and truly take photos worth bragging about, a Canon or Nikon digital SLR camera is recommended. A DSLR will produce the best quality pictures for any level photographer. Contact Phillip Cooke at (818) 403-5317 or otakuphill@gmail.com for more information.
